Overview
The Lead System Engineer position at Jobgether is a remote role for a partner company. In this role, you will support the installation, operation, and continuous improvement of a secure monitoring infrastructure in a security-critical IT environment. This position requires ensuring operational stability, handling incidents, and supporting change initiatives as per IT service management best practices.
Accountabilities
- Install, configure, and operate secure monitoring infrastructure in regulated environments
- Deploy and maintain monitoring agents across distributed systems
- Perform testing and installation of patches, updates, and system enhancements
- Ensure availability, performance, and reliability of monitoring services
- Provide operational support for the monitoring platform and related tools
- Handle incidents within 1st and 2nd level support
- Create and maintain operational and technical documentation
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent training
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional IT experience
- ITIL Foundation (v3 or v4) or equivalent Service Management experience
- German: C1 (CEFR) and English: B1 (CEFR)
- At least 3 years operating monitoring infrastructures (e.g., CheckMK)
- 3+ years experience with Linux (RHEL or equivalent) and Microsoft server OS
- 3+ years experience with Python scripting or automation
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
