As a Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing clean, well-documented APIs, improving critical production systems, and contributing to high-throughput, revenue-critical workflows. This role emphasizes a pragmatic approach to architecture and a commitment to modern development practices, working within a collaborative cross-functional environment alongside frontend, data, and product teams.

Accountabilities

• Build and maintain backend services written in Go.
• Design and evolve clean, well-documented APIs.
• Own services end-to-end: design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Work on high-throughput, revenue-critical workflows.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, data, and product partners.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and retrospectives.
• Ramp into Go with support, feedback, and real ownership.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong experience in Ruby, Python, or PHP.
• Track record of owning production systems.
• Solid understanding of databases, schemas, and migrations.
• Interest in learning Go and systems-level concepts.
• Pragmatic approach to architecture and tradeoffs.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
