Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer on the Data Platform team at Jobber, you will build scalable data solutions and empower internal teams by developing automated data pipelines and infrastructure within AWS. You will drive operational improvements and deliver analytical insights for cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines.
  • Leverage Python, SQL, and AWS technologies including Glue, Lambda, and ECS Fargate.
  • Create scripts, serverless applications, and automated workflows.
  • Develop tools and frameworks for automating processes and monitoring systems.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and product teams to extract actionable insights.
  • Research and propose new technologies to enhance performance and scalability.
  • Maintain the integrity of data systems across the organization.

Requirements

  • Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with ETL pipelines using Airflow and dbt.
  • Expertise in AWS data infrastructure including Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and ECS Fargate.
  • Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure management.
  • Familiarity with large datasets using tools such as Spark or Trino.
  • Understanding of dimensional modelling and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS EMR and SageMaker.
  • Familiarity with Kafka for stream processing.
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and integration APIs.

Work Environment & Compensation

You can work from home across Canada or in a hybrid setting from our offices in Edmonton (HQ) or Toronto. Compensation ranges from a minimum of $125,800 to $170,100 annually, with competitive benefits including health, retirement, and equity rewards.
