Network Engineer

Astor & Sanders Corporation (Astor) is an award-winning IT solutions provider headquartered in McLean, VA. They are seeking a Network Engineer to join their team. This is a full-time remote position.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Configure, administer, and maintain multiple vendor firewalls.
• Collaborate with the Network Architect for site assessments, diagramming, documentation, and analysis reports.
• Design, configure, and secure network solutions for on premise and cloud interactions.
• Utilize Enterprise SIEM to monitor firewalls and address anomalies.
• Work with other engineers on technical requirements and communicate with management.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of enterprise network security experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience troubleshooting WAN and LAN connectivity in TCP/IP (IPv4 & IPv6) environments using protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and spanning tree.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security best practices.
• Prior experience with Splunk or comparable logging systems.
• Experience in an IT Federal environment.
• Preferred experience with FortiGate, HP/Aruba, Juniper, and Cisco network devices.
• Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
