Role Description
This is a 20-40 hours/week on-site position for a Communications Manager based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with a minimum commitment of 6 months. The Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance the lab's and our papers' visibility and engagement. Responsibilities include managing internal and external communications, crafting compelling written content, working with media outlets, and promoting the lab's research and initiatives. Collaboration with researchers, administrators, and external collaborators will be integral to the role.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including expertise in developing content for press releases, reports, and online platforms.
- Experience in public relations, media relations, and managing communications for research institutions or academic environments.
- Proficiency in marketing strategies, digital content creation, and social media management.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with researchers, stakeholders, and external partners effectively.
- Experience in science communication or an understanding of AI and research topics is an asset.
- Commitment to upholding ethical communications and a passion for advancing responsible AI development.
