Job Description
About JFrog
JFrog powers how the world builds, secures, and ships software. Thousands of organizations, including most of the Fortune 100, rely on JFrog to manage their software supply chain from code to production. As we continue expanding across DevOps, DevSecOps, software distribution, CI/CD, AI tooling, and developer experience, we’re looking for a Developer Advocate who can help bring our platform, innovations, and community impact to the next level.
This Developer Advocate role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and the global developer community. You’ll translate JFrog’s technical work across all domains—repositories, security, release management, pipelines, distribution, metadata, AI/ML, and ecosystem integrations—into compelling content, insightful demos, engaging talks, and trusted conversations for developers. You’ll also be instrumental in bringing community insights back into JFrog’s R&D and business teams, directly influencing product direction.
Key Responsibilities of a Developer Advocate at JFrog
- Represent JFrog across developer, DevOps, security, and platform-engineering communities through conferences, meetups, webinars, podcasts, and online conversations.
- Create high-quality technical content: deep-dive articles, hands-on guides, compelling demos, screencasts, robust code samples, and engaging social content.
- Build compelling demos and storytelling around JFrog’s core domains, including Artifactory, Xray, Curation, Distribution, Pipelines, Workers, Fly, AI/MCP, and critical ecosystem integrations like GitHub.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Product, Security, Solutions Engineering, Architecture, and Customer Success teams to deeply understand new capabilities and provide practical, impactful feedback.
- Engage actively with open source and broader developer communities, identifying new channels and conversations where JFrog should have a strong voice.
- Partner effectively with Marketing to strengthen messaging while always preserving technical credibility and accuracy.
- Monitor and report on impact across community engagement, content performance, open source software (OSS) participation, and broader Developer Relations (DevRel) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
What You Need to Succeed as a Developer Advocate at JFrog
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in a technical role such as Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Security Engineer, Researcher, or Architect.
- Proven experience in presenting complex technical topics to developers or other technical audiences effectively.
- Strong writing and storytelling ability, capable of simplifying and conveying complex technical concepts clearly and engagingly.
- Deep understanding of the DevOps / DevSecOps ecosystem, modern software supply chain practices, CI/CD workflows, and contemporary developer tooling.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to interact clearly and persuasively with developers, leadership, customers, and community members.
- Familiarity with key developer and professional social platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitter/X, Slack, Discord) for effective community engagement and content amplification.
- Comfortable setting strategic goals, executing independently, and diligently measuring the impact of your efforts.
- Genuine enthusiasm for actively engaging communities, learning in public, and amplifying real developer value.
