Ipsum Média is an independent local non-profit media organization based in the Tarn region. We produce reports, interviews, exclusive articles, and a weekly newsletter, covering local news with rigor and good humor since June 2024. This opportunity is based in the Tarn, but you can still apply if you are outside the region, though you won't be able to participate in on-site activities.

About the Mission

We believe local information is a public utility and should be freely accessible. Our volunteers make this coverage possible, reaching 35,000 people monthly. Your contribution can make a difference.

Your Role

As a volunteer writer for our non-profit media, your role is varied. You will:

• Write articles based on press releases from local stakeholders (public institutions, businesses, associations) to inform our readers.
• Draft short news updates for social media.
• Contribute content to our weekly newsletter.
• Write articles about events in the Tarn and thematic articles (video games, economy, education).
• Collaborate with the communications team for visuals and the editorial team for content.
• Propose your own topics for editorial meetings, influencing published content.

Our media operates professionally. Our copy editor will assist you with writing and provide training on journalistic practices and jargon. While we primarily work remotely, occasional on-site travel is possible and voluntary.

Our association is largely composed of young individuals starting their student lives, with backgrounds in journalism or communication schools. We welcome those looking to test their skills, rediscover themselves, learn something new, and gain experience in the non-profit sector. You will receive training throughout your commitment.

Mission Details

• Involvement with existing commissions: Editorial, Training, Office, and Associative Life.
• Active participation in the team with the freedom to propose and implement projects.
• Volunteers select activities via a shared calendar.
• On-site field trips are optional but possible.

Prerequisites

• Comfortable with public speaking.
• Strong writing skills in French.
• Curiosity and a desire to invest in an association.
