About Ipsum Média
Ipsum Média is an independent, non-profit local media organization based in the Tarn region. We produce reports, interviews, exclusive articles, and a weekly newsletter, covering local news with rigor and enthusiasm since June 2024. This opportunity is specifically for the Tarn area, though individuals outside Tarn can apply but will not be able to participate in field reporting.
Our mission is to make local information accessible and free for everyone. Our volunteers make this coverage possible, reaching 35,000 people monthly. Your contribution can make a significant difference.
Your Role
As a volunteer writer for our non-profit media, your responsibilities are diverse:
- Write articles based on press releases from local stakeholders (public institutions, businesses, associations) to inform our readers.
- Draft short news updates for social media.
- Contribute content to our weekly newsletter.
- Write articles related to events in the Tarn or on specific themes (video games, economy, education).
- Collaborate with the communication team for visuals and the editorial team for content.
- Propose your own article ideas, which will influence editorial decisions during content planning meetings.
Ipsum Média operates like a professional media outlet. Our editorial secretary will assist you with writing and provide training on journalistic practices and jargon. Most of the work is remote, but occasional field trips (voluntary) may be possible.

Our association is composed mainly of young individuals starting their careers, some from journalism or communication schools. We welcome anyone looking to test their skills, rediscover themselves, learn something new, and gain experience in the non-profit sector. You will receive ongoing training throughout your involvement.
Mission Details
- Volunteers will work with existing commissions: editorial, training, the bureau, and associative life.
- Active participation is encouraged, and volunteers can propose and implement their own projects.
- Activities are selected via a shared calendar.
- Field trips are optional but possible.

- Comfortable with oral communication.
