We are actively seeking a Research Engineer with a robust background in engineering or machine learning, eager to translate innovative concepts into tangible, shippable products.

In This Research Engineer Role, You Will
- Ship AI product features by integrating engineering and machine learning principles.
- Develop and refine agent workflows, including tooling, retry mechanisms, guardrails, and fallbacks.
- Enhance the latency, reduce the cost, and boost the reliability of our core systems.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the AI landscape, particularly regarding agent teams, methodologies, and tooling, and incorporate these into shippable products.
- Implement self-improving loops: design systems that conduct experiments, learn from user feedback and evaluations, and progressively enhance the product.
We’d be happy to have you on our team if you:
- Possess a track record of shipping real systems, beyond mere demos or prototypes.
- Have practical experience building software with LLMs, including structured outputs, function calling, tool use, and reliability enhancements.
- Have experience developing agents, encompassing multi-step workflows, state management, and failure handling.
- Are proficient in setting up evaluations to monitor and track quality through tests, regression checks, and eval harnesses.
- Are comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, iterating quickly, and taking full ownership of outcomes.
