Position Summary
The Engineer Avionics at JetBlue plays a key role in developing and implementing in-service modifications, repairs, and other solutions to enhance aircraft reliability and achieve operational excellence. This role focuses on ensuring aircraft safety, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulations while working closely with engineers, technicians, and specialists.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with predictive digital technology teams to develop diagnostics and monitoring strategies.
- Review and act on service bulletins, letters, and OEM documentation.
- Enter Engineering Authorizations (EA) data and assist with airworthiness directive compliance.
- Increase airline profit by optimizing block hours, reducing CASM, and improving reliability.
- Draft technical documentation, analyze component failures, and design aircraft system solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations, feasibility studies and provide troubleshooting support.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain aircraft systems safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or related field plus three years experience in the Aviation sector (or equivalent direct experience). Experience includes technical support, project execution, reliability analysis, and proficiency with data analysis tools such as Python, Excel, and SQL. Familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations is required.
Preferred Qualifications
FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, Airbus experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office power apps, strong decision-making and communication skills, and project management capabilities.

Adherence to JetBlue safety values including punctuality, professional appearance, and flexible work hours. Equipment provided includes computer, ear plugs, and safety goggles.
Work Environment & Physical Effort
Work is performed in both traditional office and hangar environments, with irregular shifts and occasional travel. Physical effort is light, handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Compensation
The base pay range is between $90,000.00 and $118,400.00 per year along with a benefits package including healthcare, 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, and travel benefits.
