About The Opportunity for a Legal Operations Associate

We are seeking a highly resourceful and ambitious Legal Operations Associate to join our lean, fast-paced legal team. This role is distinct from a traditional administrative legal position, requiring a product-focused mindset aimed at automating and scaling processes rather than merely following them. The ideal candidate is a natural driver who owns projects end-to-end, solves complex problems without a manual, and possesses the grit essential for thriving in a startup environment. What You'll Do

• Own Entity Compliance: Serve as the primary contact for maintaining our corporate entities in "Good Standing" across the US and Canada, independently handling all required reports and state requests.
• Protect the Brand: Proactively monitor our intellectual property presence, identify infringements, and be responsible for drafting and initiating cease-and-desist workflows.
• Investigate & Educate: Act as the first line of defense for complex consumer escalations, investigating root causes, proposing strategic solutions, and leading compliance training initiatives for the entire workforce.
• Drive Product & Process Improvements: Review products and processes for compliance. Identify user friction or compliance risks, then partner directly with Engineering and Product teams to implement systemic improvements.
• Run Tight Audits: Lead compliance audits across operations, proactively monitoring key risk areas to ensure practices not only meet baseline regulatory standards but also set industry benchmarks.
• Automate Everything: Utilize AI and low-code tools to transform manual legal tasks into scalable, automated workflows, building systems that effectively manage work for you.

Requirements

• Academic Excellence: Possess a Bachelor’s degree from an academically rigorous program with a demonstrated track record of high performance.
• Driver Mindset: Proven extreme resourcefulness, consistently finding answers before asking questions, and an innate need to close loops on projects.
• Product & Tech Savvy: A strong interest in leveraging AI/technology to optimize workflows, preferring automated tools or spreadsheets over manual checklists.
• Impeccable Attention to Detail: Exhibit a "zero-error" mentality for regulatory filings and compliance audits, with the organizational rigor to ensure no deadline or cross-functional project is missed.
