Job Overview

The Business Development Practice Leader role focuses on expanding our presence in the mission critical/data center sector. Reporting as a trusted engineering consultant, you will engage design teams, general contractors, and end clients globally, leveraging our niche capabilities in fire protection, life safety, code consulting, and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Market Development: Identify opportunities for Jensen Hughes as a high-value subcontractor.
  • Client and Partner Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry stakeholders.
  • Sales and Opportunity Management: Lead pursuit efforts including proposal development and contract negotiation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operational Sales Leaders and contribute to marketing content.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field (MBA is a plus).
  • 8+ years of business development experience in mission critical/data center environments.
  • Technical fluency in fire protection engineering, life safety, commissioning, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven network with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center markets.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 25–50%).
