Job Overview

The Operator II position with Jefferson County, Colorado, is a journeyman level role in the Equipment Operator series. The role involves operating various medium and heavy equipment on county roads, ensuring proper maintenance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate asphalt pavers, screeds, roto mills, vacuum jetter trucks, motor graders, front end loaders, backhoes, and tandem-axle trucks.
  • Conduct road maintenance including milling, repaving, pothole repair, crack sealing, street sweeping, and snow removal.
  • Perform pre and post trip inspections and routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies and snow removal operations 24/7.
  • Prepare equipment for specialized tasks and support traffic control and site safety protocols.

Qualifications
