Position Summary
The Human Resources Associate (HRA) supports the Tax Line of Business, including seasonal and full-time professionals across TurboTax Live (TTL), QuickBooks Live (QBL), and related tax programs. This role serves as a frontline HR partner during peak tax season, ensuring timely resolution of employee inquiries, compliance support, documentation management, and operational coordination across a high-volume, remote workforce.
The HRA plays a critical role in maintaining employee experience, policy consistency, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Support & Case Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for HR inquiries from tax associates, experts, and managers.
- Respond to and resolve employee relations matters, policy questions, pay inquiries, and escalations.
- Manage HR ticketing system cases, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
- Escalate complex matters to HR Business Partner or legal as appropriate.
- Seasonal Workforce Support (High Volume)
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for seasonal tax professionals.
- Partner with Payroll to resolve pay discrepancies, differential pay, and overtime issues.
- Assist with performance documentation and corrective action coordination.
- Support attendance tracking and timekeeping compliance.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain documentation for FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave requests.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies.
- Monitor compliance with wage & hour laws across multiple states.
- Support investigations related to harassment, discrimination, or policy violations.
- Performance & Manager Support
- Partner with Tax Managers and Senior Tax Managers to guide performance conversations and documentation.
- Assist in drafting performance improvement plans and final warnings.
- Data & Reporting
- Track HR trends including attendance, escalations, terminations, and leave activity.
- Provide weekly summaries during peak season to HR leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of HR experience (high-volume or seasonal workforce preferred).
- Experience supporting a remote workforce strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of wage & hour compliance.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred).
- Strong documentation and case management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities during peak season.
