The Role: BI Data Engineer II

Business Intelligence at Jamf is responsible for all data reporting and visibility. This includes the creation, management, and ongoing support for growing data creation systems. As a BI Data Engineer II, you will be an integral member of the Business Intelligence team, responsible for implementing data management systems and tools to increase overall data quality and usage.

You will leverage your experience in building data solutions using key data structures and systems, applying your knowledge of business functions to build tools that support business processes. Your data discipline will help provide tools and solutions that deliver meaningful data to a wider audience, supporting data-driven decision making.

This role is offered as remote. We are only able to accept applications for those based in Poland and have sponsorship to live and work in Poland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain complex data sets needed for analytics.
  • Combine multiple data sets to produce resultant datasets for large scale analytics.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts to help create datasets supporting predictive modeling.
  • Design solutions to move data between multiple systems and tools to produce meaningful datasets.
  • Create scripts, tools, or other software solutions to help enforce data governance policies.
  • Understand business KPIs and the definitions used in reporting on them.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify and measure additional KPIs in support of further efforts.
  • Collaborate with Data stewards to improve data health, quality, and governance.
  • Understand and execute within the data quality metrics set by the Data stewards.
  • Assist data quality initiatives by engineering solutions to enforce data governance policies.
  • Assist data quality initiatives by automated transformation of errant data.
  • Maintain an understanding of the data creating business processes.
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts to create innovative ways to deliver data and insights to internal customers.
  • Maintain an understanding of the reporting and analytics tools used by the Data Analysts.
  • Support one time needs to extract, transform, and load data sets in existing tools and systems.
  • Assist in identifying and choosing new tools used by the Business Intelligence team.
  • Monitor and assist in issue resolution from our service desk.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
  • 2-4 years Experience in scripting languages for modifying large data sets like Python, or SQL (Required).
  • Experience in a customer centric environment (Required).
  • 2 - 4 years in extraction, transformation, and loading of large data sets (Required).
  • 2+ years experience leveraging and deploying solutions in Amazon’s cloud environment (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of using Docker/Kubernetes (Preferred).
  • 2+ years Experiencing extracting, modifying, and updating data from Salesforce (Preferred).
  • Working within a fast paced, agile environment.
