About Principal 3D Generalist Role

Jam City, a leading mobile games developer, is seeking innovative and dynamic talent. This fully remote role focuses on creating beautiful and efficient 3D characters, props, and environments for a brand new game in the Narrative Game division.

Responsibilities

  • Create high quality 3D characters, props, and environments
  • Design lighting scenes for both real time and pre-baked needs
  • Develop shaders in Unity and Maya
  • Occasionally rig and skin characters and props
  • Establish and document art pipelines and best practices
  • Collaborate with 3D Art Director, Tech Art, and Engineering teams
  • Troubleshoot visual issues in Maya and Unity

Requirements

  • 5+ years 3D game experience with a strong portfolio
  • Expertise in modeling, texturing, lighting, rigging, and shader development
  • Mastery of Maya, Adobe Creative Suite, Unity, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer
  • Strong understanding of both environment and character art processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Art Degree or similar working experience

Nice to Have

  • Strong 2D concept and illustration skills
  • Scripting experience in Maya (Mel or Python)

Compensation & Additional Information

Pay Range: $75,000 — $120,000 per year. This range is one component of a total compensation package that includes bonuses, incentives, and benefits. Applicants must provide a portfolio link or PDF of recent artwork.
