Overview

IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions globally, is expanding our software engineering team responsible for managing the infrastructure for our Rosetta Stone and Wyzant products. This is a full-time position based in our San Mateo, CA headquarters with a schedule of Monday-Friday in-office and one day per week work-from-home option.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Master a variety of production technology stacks.
  • Ensure site performance, uptime, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerting systems, and runbook documentation.
  • Identify technical problems and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with application engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines and product support.
  • Propose architecture changes to simplify and streamline technology.
  • Develop tooling for deployment and release processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science/engineering or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Experience with public cloud providers (GCP is a plus).
  • Familiarity with web servers, message queues, load balancers, and databases.
  • Proficiency with containerized cloud solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in source control, builds, deployments, networking, scaling, and monitoring.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C++, C, Go, Python, Bash, Perl).
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and time management skills.
  • Passion for improving education through technology.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $200,000 plus equity and benefits, determined by role, level, and location.
