Job Description

We are looking for a Data Science Engineer / Senior Research Engineer to join our applied AI team at Abhibus in a hybrid role blending AI/ML, classical data science, and data engineering. You will directly impact millions of travellers and hundreds of bus operators by designing AI-driven features.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement ML models for personalization, demand forecasting, route optimization, pricing, anomaly detection, and recommendations.
• Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/data pipelines to support ML models and analytics dashboards.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to translate business requirements into models and production systems.
• Perform statistical analysis, A/B testing, and causal inference for experiments.
• Translate academic research into practical product applications.
• Manage the full ML model lifecycle including data collection, feature engineering, training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with the data engineering team on data architecture and scaling pipelines.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in data science and engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, ML/DL, and statistics.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries such as TensorFlow/PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Pandas, NumPy, SciPy.
• Experience with SQL and data pipeline tools (Airflow, Spark, Kafka, dbt, etc.).
• Ability to convert ambiguous problems into structured models and scalable solutions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and ML deployment tools (SageMaker, MLflow, Kubeflow).
• Knowledge of big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Presto, ClickHouse.
• Familiarity with travel, mobility, or marketplace challenges.
• Contributions to open-source ML projects or published research.
