Per Diem Surgical Center Nurse RN

Job Purpose

The Per Diem Surgical Center Nurse RN is responsible for delivering high quality nursing care through all phases of patient care including pre-operative, surgical, and post-operative stages.

Essential Functions And Accountabilities

• Provide emotional support during pre-operative, operative and post-operative stages.
• Perform pre-operative assessments and document per policy.
• Assist surgical team, prepare supplies, conduct surgical counts and transport patients.
• Manage post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) responsibilities including patient assessments and documentation.
• Review discharge instructions and ensure continuity of care.
• Follow strict infection control and safety precautions.

Academic Training & Technical Skills

Graduate from an approved School of Nursing with a Bachelor's degree, BLS/ACLS certification, and 2+ years clinical nursing experience. Proficiency in nursing assessment, intravenous therapy, and common computer programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
