Job Description
Editor, Hotelier Middle East
Hotelier Middle East is a leading hospitality brand with over two decades of authority in the market, reaching a monthly audience of senior decision-makers across the GCC and MENA regions. It stands at the heart of the hospitality industry.
This dynamic opportunity seeks a senior journalist with strong editorial judgment, commercial awareness, and a deep interest in hospitality and business. The Editor, Hotelier Middle East will be responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality content across print, digital, social, and live events, ensuring the brand continues to lead industry conversations throughout the region.
The successful candidate will combine sharp editorial instincts with strategic thinking, working closely with commercial and events teams while maintaining the integrity and authority of the brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the editorial direction of Hotelier Middle East across all platforms, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality news, features, analysis, interviews, market reports, and special projects relevant to senior hospitality professionals across the GCC.
- Own the editorial calendar, including major annual initiatives such as power lists, awards coverage, market reports, and sector deep-dives, ensuring timely execution and market impact.
- Maintain a strong network of industry leaders including hotel owners, CEOs, general managers, operators, consultants, and suppliers. Represent the brand as a credible and respected voice within the hospitality sector.
- Oversee content output across print, website, newsletters, and social channels, ensuring consistency in tone, accuracy, and authority.
- Play a central role in the brand’s extensive events portfolio, including awards ceremonies, roundtable, and panel discussions across the GCC.
- Travel regularly within the GCC, particularly to Saudi Arabia, to build relationships and strengthen the brand’s presence in key growth markets.
- Work closely with the wider editorial and digital teams to expand audience reach and engagement across platforms. Identify opportunities to strengthen newsletter performance, social visibility, and brand loyalty within the hospitality community.
- Collaborate closely with the commercial team to support revenue-driving initiatives while maintaining clear editorial standards.
- Contribute to the development of sponsored features, special reports, and content partnerships, ensuring all branded content delivers value to the audience and protects the integrity of the brand.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ editorial experience, ideally within B2B or business publishing. Experience covering hospitality, travel, real estate, construction, F&B, or related sectors is highly desirable.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating authoritative reporting, in-depth interviews, and long-form features.
- A genuine interest in the hospitality and hotel management sector, with an understanding of the GCC business landscape. Familiarity with Saudi Arabia’s evolving hospitality market is a strong advantage.
- Ability to lead a major regional brand with confidence, manage workflows effectively, and contribute to long-term editorial planning.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to work constructively alongside sales and events teams without compromising editorial integrity.
- Comfortable working across CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress), social media channels, and newsletter distribution systems. Understanding of audience behaviour and digital publishing best practice.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and interviewing skills. Confident public speaker, comfortable moderating panels and representing the brand at high-level industry events.
