Iterable is the leading AI-powered customer engagement platform empowering over 1,200 brands. The Platform Engineer II - Observability drives system reliability and performance by optimizing monitoring, logging, tracing, and metrics platforms.

How You Will Make an Impact

You will own and enhance a robust observability stack, ensuring system visibility across 100+ services and multi-Kubernetes clusters.

  • Design, deploy and scale observability systems (Datadog, Prometheus, etc.).
  • Automate telemetry pipelines for high-signal, low-noise alerting.
  • Enhance platform features to boost developer experience.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine dashboards and alerts.
  • Participate in on-call rotations focused on recovery and improvement.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full observability stack and support petabyte-scale telemetry.
  • Instrument monitoring, logging, tracing and metrics across services.
  • Ship platform features to boost performance and reliability.
  • Partner with teams to integrate observability into SDLC.
  • Reduce MTTR and cost with effective alerting strategies.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of professional software or SRE experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and modern cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Proficiency in Python, Go or similar scripting languages.
  • Experience with observability platforms like Datadog, Prometheus, and Elastic.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with OpenTelemetry Collectors at scale.
  • Operated large K8s clusters or written controllers/operators.
  • Practical GitOps experience.
  • Cost optimization initiatives in observability.
