The positions are anchored in the Digital Business & Innovation (DBI) section, which brings together research on digital technologies, organizational processes, and human actors to address digitalization challenges. The section comprises 13 members, including faculty, postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, and research support staff, publishing in premier IS journals and top journals of adjacent disciplines. DBI also hosts the BUILD Lab, a hub for research, education, and engagement with practice. DBI collaborates closely with ITU's nine research sections, creating a vibrant environment for interdisciplinary research connecting information systems to data science, organizational studies, and software engineering.Job Description
We invite applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) or Associate Professor position, starting September 2026 or thereafter. Successful candidates will contribute to ITU's vision of creating and sharing knowledge for ground-breaking information technology and services benefiting humanity. The positions aim to strengthen ITU’s research and teaching in one or more of these three areas: 1. **Digital Platforms & Digital Transformation:** Examine how digital platforms and infrastructures shape organizations, work, and transformation. Topics include digital platform ecosystems, platform-mediated work, organizational consequences of platformization, and digital transformation at organizational or industry levels. 2. **Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence in Organizations:** Investigate the development, implementation, and use of data, analytics, and AI in organizational contexts. Topics include organizational AI use, business analytics and data-driven decision-making, human-AI interaction, and responsible AI use. 3. **Digital Process Innovation:** Explore how digital technologies enable the redesign, evolution, and automation of organizational processes. Topics include digital process innovation, automation and augmentation of processes, organizational processes and routines, and processual perspectives on digital work. Candidates may use quantitative, qualitative, mixed-method, or design-oriented approaches. Interdisciplinary research is encouraged. Successful candidates will deliver excellent research-based teaching in English within ITU’s bachelor’s and master’s programs, including BSc Global Business Informatics, MSc Digital Innovation & Management, and the Industry MSc in Business Analytics & Artificial Intelligence. Exemplary courses include Process Innovation, Digital Innovation, Enterprise Systems & Platform Ecosystems, Digital Organizing & Transformation, Business Process Improvement & Automation, Quantitative Methods & Business Analytics, Managing Business Analytics & Data-Driven Decision Making, and AI in Organizations. For the Associate Professor position, candidates must also be able to attract external research funding, supervise PhD students, and possess or be willing to learn a Scandinavian language.Qualifications Required
