About This Role
iRhythm is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Project Manager within our Research & Development team. You will drive the delivery of medical device projects to domestic and international markets, exposed to diverse projects involving development and testing for unmet clinical needs. You will build a deep understanding of our end-to-end systems, ensuring successful project delivery throughout the development life cycle.

What You Will Be Doing
Project Planning
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, quality, and regulatory assurance to understand business priorities, define project scope for unmet clinical needs, and launch new products.
- Drive project planning, including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimation, resource allocation, scheduling, timelines, scenario analysis, risk assessment, and re-planning.
- Create and maintain the technical project release plan within the design control process.
Project Execution
- Own project plan initiation through post-implementation activities.
- Achieve successful project execution and launch through a blend of people skills, project management, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration with CRM, Manufacturing, Marketing, Customer Support, and Clinical Operations.
- Act as a Scrum Master for sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Lead and drive stand-ups and recurring project meetings to track progress, timelines, project health, and risks.
- Facilitate and participate in technical discussions with engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Act as a core team leader, coordinating efforts for business readiness for deployment and product launch.
- Own the project risk register and conduct regular discussions on risk management activities.
- Author project documentation and assist with system testing as necessary.
- Work closely with QA/RA to ensure compliance with Company SOPs and International Regulatory standards.
Operational
- In conjunction with the technical project management team, ensure project health and drive continuous process improvement.
- Drive best practices, manage ambiguity, and balance competing objectives.
- Participate in production release and health monitoring activities.
What We Want To See
- BS degree in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Master’s degree, M.B.A. or P.M.P. certification is a strong plus.
- 4+ years’ experience leading development projects, with a proven record of transferring design changes to manufacturing and taking new products from development to commercialization.
- 8+ years of engineering experience in a professional environment, requiring extensive cross-functional collaboration.
- Proven ability to influence without authority, coordinating and aligning matrixed resources.
- Strong project management skills: budgeting, planning, tracking, organization, attention to detail, managing competing priorities, analytical and critical thinking, and sound engineering fundamentals.
- Strong technical abilities, grounded in ethics and sound decision-making processes.
- Deep familiarity with highly technical product development teams and design transfer processes with embedded systems – medical device experience is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering strong alignment with internal/external partners and navigating conflict constructively.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, synthesizing information clearly and conveying technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Software/tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio). Working knowledge of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 10% (team meetings/offsites).

- Experience with IEC standards 62304, 14971, 62366.
- Experience with tools desired: Jira, Product roadmap (Aha!), Project portfolio Management, Requirements management (JAMA).
- Proficiency in AWS/Linux/Unix/Windows environment.
