Job Overview: Internal Audit Intern at IQVIA
As an Internal Audit Intern at IQVIA, starting in August 2026 for a placement year, you will be a vital member of the global internal audit team. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate risks and controls within IQVIA's financial and business processes, directly supporting the Internal Audit Plan and the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 compliance testing program.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn about critical financial risks, operational processes, and controls over financial reporting within a leading global multi-national corporation. You will apply your learnings to day-to-day responsibilities by completing audit and SOX testing for assigned business units and controls.
You will work collaboratively with Audit Managers, Audit Directors, and other internal audit colleagues. The role also involves interacting with key external teams, including external auditors, and various business teams across Finance and Operations, providing broad exposure to IQVIA's global operations.
Role And Responsibilities
- Participate actively in internal audit reviews, conducting interviews with management and performing thorough testing.
- Document results accurately and complete work papers in strict accordance with relevant internal and external standards.
- Execute SOX 404 testing companywide as per the annual SOX testing plan.
- Identify potential risks associated with the processes under review, contributing to a robust risk assessment framework.
- Determine compliance with established financial policies and procedures.
- Identify internal control weaknesses and assist in preparing audit observations and recommending improvements for audit management review.
- Participate in Internal Audit team meetings and perform other ad hoc departmental tasks as required.
Educational Requirements & Core Skillsets
- Successful completion of two years of a bachelor's degree program with a strong focus on Accounting and Finance.
- Authorization to work full-time in the United Kingdom without requiring additional sponsorship.
- A solid understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including strong presentation abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all work performed.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, multitask effectively, and consistently meet reporting deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills combined with a curious mindset to learn and comprehend complex problems.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling highly sensitive information.
