Senior VMware Engineer (VCF)

As a Senior VMware Engineer (VCF) at IQ-EQ, you will join our cloud infrastructure team to design, deploy, manage, and optimize VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments supporting scalable and secure private or hybrid cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Deploy: Architect and implement robust VCF-based solutions.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Manage lifecycle operations for VCF components including SDDC Manager, vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, and vRealize Suite.
  • Automation & Integration: Develop automation scripts using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence with internal security policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Use tools like vROps, vRLI, and Aria Suite to monitor system health and capacity.
  • Troubleshooting: Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architectural diagrams.
  • Collaboration: Work with networking, storage, and application teams to deliver cohesive solutions.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vSAN, and NSX-T.
  • 2+ years of production experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF 4.X – 5.X).
  • Deep understanding of SDDC architecture, cloud networking, and virtualization.
  • Proficiency in PowerCLI, Python, Ansible and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with enterprise networking and security policies.
  • Experience with vRealize / Aria suite, container platforms (e.g. Kubernetes), and storage solutions.
  • Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD integration with Jenkins; experience with Azure is a plus.
  • VMware certifications (VCAP, VCDX, or VCF Specialist) preferred.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with VMware Avi Advanced Load Balancer and VMware HCX.
  • Exposure to Private AI with NVIDIA and product lifecycle processes.
  • Experience in hybrid cloud or multi-cloud environments.
