Medical Billing Operations Manager
iOrtho is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day performance of our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. This role requires a strong background in medical billing and collections, combined with proven management skills. The Operations Manager will supervise a remote team of five staff members and ensure all RCM functions are executed efficiently, accurately, and within established performance metrics. This position reports directly to the Billing Department Executive Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the RCM team, including billing, collections, and follow-up
- Manage and support a remote team of five staff members
- Ensure team performance remains within established metric targets
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement process improvements
- Provide ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members
- Collaborate with the Department Manager on strategic initiatives and reporting
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of medical billing and collections experience
- Prior experience managing or leading a billing/RCM team
- Strong understanding of the full revenue cycle (charge capture through collections)
- Experience with EMR and billing systems (Trizetto & ModMed experience a plus)
- Proficiency in analyzing and managing RCM performance metrics
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a remote team
