About InvestSuite
InvestSuite builds white-label wealthtech infrastructure connecting with broker custodians across regulated financial markets. Our platform powers investment experiences for financial institutions and the backend is the engine that makes it all work.
The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at InvestSuite, you will own and evolve our backend architecture. You will design and build core services that sit between our Flutter frontend and regulated brokerage infrastructure. This high-ownership role involves making architectural decisions, shipping production systems, and setting the engineering standard.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and build backend services in Kotlin.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and deployment infrastructure.
- Make build-vs-buy and technology decisions for the backend.
- Integrate AI agents and LLM-powered workflows into products and processes.
- Mentor and elevate fellow engineers as the team grows.
Who You Are
You have shipped backend systems at scale, ideally using Kotlin or another JVM language. You are experienced in making architectural decisions and your technical judgment is highly sought after. You take initiative, care passionately about product quality, and exhibit a direct, low-ego approach.
Technical Foundation
- Strong Kotlin or JVM experience.
- Expertise in distributed systems design including microservices and event-driven architecture.
- Familiarity with infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Database skills with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
- Ability to design testable systems.
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
