About the Senior Data Engineer Role

Do you get a thrill from solving puzzles, making messy data make sense, or building systems that just work? At InterWorks, our Senior Data Engineer is central to our mission of transforming data into powerful insights. You will design robust data systems, unify diverse data sources, and build scalable pipelines.

What You’ll Do

  • Build modern, scalable data pipelines that keep data flowing.
  • Design cloud-native infrastructure and automation for analytics, AI, and machine learning.
  • Unify and wrangle data from SQL, APIs, spreadsheets, cloud storage, and more.
  • Develop ETL/ELT frameworks that enhance code quality.
  • Apply data modeling principles to support dashboards and data science.
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to define requirements.
  • Write clear documentation and contribute to design decisions.
  • Bring a thoughtful, problem-solving mindset to each project.

What You’ll Need

  • Solid SQL skills and passion for continuous learning.
  • Strong experience with ETL/ELT workflows and data modeling.
  • Understanding of data quality, governance, and observability.
  • Working knowledge of DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and client-centered approach.
  • 5+ years in data engineering or technical consulting roles.

Location & Flexibility

You can join us from our offices in Portland, OKC, Tulsa, or Stillwater, with remote work possible depending on circumstances.
