Overview

At InterWorks, as an Entry Level Data Engineer, you will learn to design and build data pipelines, wrangle messy data sources, and create systems that produce actionable insights. You will work with experienced engineers under a collaborative and supportive environment.

What You’ll Do

• Support design and development of scalable data pipelines
• Work with various data sources, including SQL, spreadsheets, and APIs
• Apply data modeling principles for dashboards and data science
• Assist with ETL/ELT processes and quality improvement frameworks
• Document work and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with teammates and clients to deliver needed solutions
• Bring curiosity, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset to projects

What You’ll Need

Must-Haves: Basic SQL skills, familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows, understanding of data modeling concepts, strong communication, detail orientation, adaptability, and willingness to learn from senior engineers.

Nice-to-Haves: Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), experience with ETL tools (Matillion, Fivetran, dbt), familiarity with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift), basic scripting (Python or similar), interest in software engineering and integration, and curiosity about AI in data engineering.

Location and Compensation

You may work from one of our offices in Portland, OKC, Tulsa, or Stillwater. Remote work may be considered. Salary ranges from $65,000 to $90,000, depending on experience.
