Overview
Do you love solving puzzles, getting messy data to behave, or figuring out how things fit together? At InterWorks, as an Entry Level Data Engineer, you will learn to design and build data systems, wrangle various data sources, and create pipelines that empower insights. You will work under experienced engineers and consultants while growing your technical toolkit.
What You’ll Do
- Support designing and developing modern, scalable data pipelines.
- Work with SQL, spreadsheets, APIs, and more to unify data.
- Apply data modeling principles for dashboards and data science.
- Assist with ETL/ELT processes to improve quality and reliability.
- Document work and communicate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with teammates and clients to deliver required solutions.
- Bring curiosity, adaptability, and a problem-solving mindset.
What You’ll Need
- Basic SQL skills with a drive to improve.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT workflows through GUI tools or coding.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and formats.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptability and willingness to learn from senior engineers.
Nice-to-Haves
- Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Matillion, Fivetran, or dbt.
- Familiarity with modern data warehouses: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Basic scripting knowledge in Python or similar languages.

Location Preferences
Join us from our offices in Portland, OKC, Tulsa, or Stillwater. Remote work may be possible.
Salary
Salary range: $65,000 – $90,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
