Job Description
Senior Director, Technical Consulting and Services
Intertek is searching for a Senior Director to join our People Assurance team. This is a remote position that requires travel to client locations. Establish and evolve the technical consulting practice by developing methodologies, thought leadership, and industry-facing expertise that position the organization as a trusted authority in food safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Consulting Leadership and Client Delivery
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for consulting engagements related to food safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental health and safety.
- Guide client organizations in the development, implementation, and improvement of food safety management systems aligned with Global Food Safety Initiative standards including SQF, BRC, and FSSC 22000.
- Provide expertise in HACCP plan development and analysis and support clients in meeting FDA and USDA regulatory requirements.
- Serve as a lead training instructor delivering technical training and certification-related programs.
- Responsible for completing technical reviews of reports as needed.
Strategy, Program Development, and Innovation
- Lead strategy and planning for the technical consulting practice, including development and expansion of consulting programs and service offerings.
- Identify opportunities to address emerging client needs and develop scalable solutions that improve food safety, compliance, and operational performance.
- Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement technology solutions that support consulting services, compliance programs, and operational improvements.
- Participate in Business Planning, Strategic Meetings, and Marketing initiatives to grow the business and maximize revenue growth for Consulting.
- Provide support to the Marketing Department to provide thought leadership and participate in Marketing activities such as speaking on webinars, writing blogs and speaking at trade association events.
Team Leadership and Business Growth
- Lead and develop team ensuring strong technical capability, consistent delivery standards, and ongoing professional development.
- Support business growth through participation in new business development, solution design, and client relationship management.
- Provide leadership and subject matter guidance across operational areas including Research and Development, QA Operations, Regulatory Compliance, and Vendor Quality Management.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in food safety, quality, regulatory compliance, or related technical consulting fields, including experience at the Director level.
- Demonstrated expertise with Global Food Safety Initiative standards including SQF, BRC, and FSSC 22000.
- Strong technical knowledge of food safety management systems, HACCP plan development and analysis, and regulatory compliance with FDA and USDA requirements.
- Experience leading consulting teams, managing complex client engagements, and supporting consulting revenue growth.
- Professional certifications in food safety or related disciplines are required.
- Lead training instructor qualifications required.
- Demonstrated ability to develop consulting programs, expand service offerings, and address complex technical and compliance challenges.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to operate independently and guide complex initiatives.
- Flexibility to travel domestically 65-75% to support client engagements and consulting activities.
