About the Food Safety Auditor Role

This is a remote position based in the United States with 85% travel. Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the U.S.

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions for top global brands, is seeking a Food Safety Auditor to join their Business Assurance team. This role offers a versatile career growth opportunity in Food Safety with extensive travel across North America.

Role Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive food safety audits at client facilities.
• Review documents and pre-assess compliance with standards.
• Prepare Audit Plans and detailed audit reports.
• Provide technical training and consultative support to client management and employees.
• Coordinate travel plans and manage extensive on-site inspections.

Requirements & Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a food-related science, certification as a FSSC 22000 V6 Lead Auditor (with renewal), and PCQI certification. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and experience conducting at least 10 food safety audits is required. A valid driver’s license and physical capability to work in diverse environments are essential.

Physical & Additional Requirements

The role demands physical agility including climbing, bending, and extended standing. Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills are needed along with the ability to work independently under challenging conditions.
