About the Role - Power Developer

As part of Intersect’s East Development team, you will help shape the future of energy across SPP by managing budgets, schedules, and project economics. You will support the full development lifecycle for solar, storage, wind, and load projects in close partnership with specialists across engineering, finance, origination, and real estate.

Team Overview

The Development team turns ideas into reality by driving clean projects from early-stage strategy through to construction start. This involves opportunity identification, securing resources, navigating permitting, and structuring contracts.

What You’ll Do

  • Advance development of wind, solar, BESS, and load projects.
  • Manage day-to-day project budgets, schedules, and tools.
  • Prepare clear updates and materials for senior leadership and investment committees.
  • Own project financial models and conduct economic analysis.
  • Evaluate risks and opportunities while collaborating with Finance.
  • Support negotiations and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Structure contracts to ensure project success.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, energy management or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in the energy industry, preferably in project development.
  • Strong financial modeling skills using Excel or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of energy project development processes and power market dynamics.
  • A growth mindset with curiosity to learn and adapt.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Total Rewards

Compensation is competitive with a total package between $121,000 and $128,000. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision coverage, unlimited PTO with company wide breaks, family support up to 12 weeks fully paid parental leave, mental health benefits, retirement contributions, and additional perks like a monthly food stipend, pet insurance, and home office setup.
