About the Role
As a Power Developer at Intersect, you will shape the future of energy across SPP by managing budgets, schedules, and economics that drive successful projects. You will support the full development lifecycle of solar, storage, wind, and load projects in partnership with cross-functional teams from engineering, finance, origination, and real estate.
Team Overview
The Development team transforms ideas into reality, advancing clean projects from early-stage strategy to construction initiation. You will collaborate with internal experts, external partners, and stakeholders to secure land, navigate permitting and structure contracts.
What You’ll Do
- Advance Project Development: Support wind, solar, BESS, and load projects from strategy through construction start; manage project budgets and schedules; prepare updates for senior leadership.
- Drive Financial Insight: Own project financial models and economic analysis; evaluate risks and opportunities, partnering with Finance for reporting accuracy.
- Strengthen Partnerships: Assist in negotiations with utilities, land agents, counsel; collaborate cross-functionally and help structure contracts.
What You’ll Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or energy management.
- 2+ years of energy industry experience, ideally in development or energy markets.
- Strong financial modeling skills and ability to simplify complex data.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with energy project development or power market dynamics.
- A growth mindset with curiosity, openness to feedback, and drive.
- MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
