Digital Web Editor, English Section
The International Youth Federation (IYF) is a global non-profit youth organization dedicated to empowering youth worldwide. The Media & Advocacy Unit (MAU) works to increase the organization's visibility and impact through strategic communications and advocacy.
About the Role
The Digital Web Editor (English) is a remote, part-time, voluntary position for one year, renewable. The role requires approximately 3-6 hours per week of flexible commitment. Reporting to the Senior Media Specialist, the Digital Web Editor will play a crucial role in implementing the IYF's corporate digital strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Maintenance and Improvement: Regularly update the IYF global website (www.iyfweb.org) with written and multimedia content from various IYF units. Edit and publish clear, concise, and engaging English content. Enhance website navigation, structure, and content consistency across language sections. Support multimedia products like photo galleries, videos, and infographics.
- Social Media Management: Research, expand, and monitor IYF's presence on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube). Identify and recommend new online marketing tools to boost visibility. Train and support IYF staff globally on social media best practices.
- Digital Communications Support: Provide guidance and feedback to communications staff in country teams to ensure compliance with IYF website requirements. Assist HQ units and regional administrations in consolidating their web presence, adhering to branding guidelines. Support specialized units in developing strategies for project-specific sites. Review content submitted by other IYF units.
Requirements
- Communications experience within an NGO, government, not-for-profit, charity, or similar organization (e.g., United Nations, USAID, European Union, international relations, diplomatic services, civil service) is required.
