Overview
The Business Development Lead plays a key role at the International Rescue Committee (IRC) by advancing Airbel Impact Lab's funding strategy. This role drives growth in adapting IRC program models for scale and influencing the humanitarian sector to support high impact, cost-effective interventions.
Major Responsibilities
Strategy & Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust pipeline of high-value institutional funding opportunities. Identify emerging trends and set fundraising targets in partnership with senior leadership.
Proposal Project Management & Quality Assurance: Manage end-to-end proposal development, ensuring compliance with internal standards, coordinating cross-functional inputs, and meeting quality deliverables.
Direct Proposal Development Contributions: Draft compelling proposal sections, lead budget development, and support contract negotiations with legal and finance teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
6-8 years of experience in grant-writing, business development, and partnership development in global NGOs. Proven track record in securing major grants ($5M+), demonstrated proficiency with AI tools for efficiency, and strong writing, editing, and project management skills. Experience in research-to-practice environments and evidence-based scaling is preferred.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is associated with IRC operations in Kenya and the UK. For Kenya-based hires, occasional shifted work schedules may be required; candidates in the UK must have the right to work in the UK. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Compensation
The salary range is GBP 63,700-74,317 per annum.
