Overview
The Advisor, Global MEAL at International Medical Corps headquarters will drive the implementation of the MEAL strategy by building capacity, providing technical assistance, and mentoring counterparts in country offices. This role works closely with both headquarters and field teams to ensure high quality standards in program cycles.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
The role involves updating MEAL standards, competency frameworks, and guidelines; supporting data collection, analysis, and reporting; and implementing systems such as DHIS2 and mobile data collection tools.
- Develop and update manuals and training materials.
- Support the harmonization and rollout of MEAL systems globally.
- Provide technical support and capacity building in data management.
- Assist in needs assessments, theory of change and project design.
- Lead quality improvement and accountability through field assessments.
Program Development & Capacity Building
Design needs assessments, support field team capacity building, and assist in recruitment and training initiatives for MEAL roles.
Quality Improvement & Evidence Building
Conduct audits, field evaluations and research projects while promoting lessons learned and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of MEAL experience with humanitarian organizations.
- Experience with large scale emergency response and causal attribution.
- Hands-on experience with data collection tools like Kobo, ODK, CommCare.
- Proficiency in statistical packages and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel to insecure environments.
