About This Position
The Inter-American Development Bank is seeking an active graduate student for a 2-month paid internship, located at its Headquarters in Washington D.C. This competitive 2026 Summer Internship Program offers university students a unique opportunity to gain professional experience in development work and corporate management.
What You’ll Do
- Research and summarize relevant impact evidence across sectors, countries, and projects within the IDB Invest portfolio, supporting projects during structuring and supervision.
- Support the production and dissemination of ex-post evaluations of IDB Invest–funded projects by collecting secondary data, conducting analyses, summarizing lessons learned, and producing presentations of results for sub-portfolios.
- Assist in ongoing studies or impact evaluations with clients or on strategic topics, including survey design, data analysis, and report/presentation preparation.
- Support internal data analytics functions, including systematizing data from documents produced or collected by IDB Invest and analyzing administrative information on project performance.
What You'll Need
Education
An active graduate student (Master’s or Ph.D.) in economics, applied economics, public policy, or data science from an accredited University. Graduation date must be after the Internship period.
Languages
Fluency in English is required, with working knowledge of Spanish, French, or Portuguese being a significant plus.

Requirements
- Citizenship: IDB Invest has no nationality restrictions.
- Active Student: Must be enrolled in a graduate program (master’s or Ph.D.) as of the internship start date, with a graduation date after the internship period.
- Consanguinity: No immediate family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at IDB or IDB Invest.
- First Job at IDB Group: Must be a first-time participant in an Internship Program with the Bank or Inter-American Investment Corporation, and not a former staff, contractor, or service provider.

- Graduate students must have completed a minimum of 50% of coursework when applying.

- Availability: Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) from June 16 to August 15, 2026. These dates are fixed.
