Job Description

Technical Project Manager at Intellicheck

We are seeking a highly organized, execution-focused Project Manager to lead software development projects from requirements through delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring requirements are clearly understood, translated into actionable work, and delivered on time and to specification. You will run the Scrum process, remove blockers, and closely monitor engineering performance to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery. This is a hands-on delivery role, not a passive coordinator position.

Your Day to Day (Responsibilities)

Requirements & Planning
  • Partner with product owners, stakeholders, and leadership to gather, clarify, and document requirements
  • Ensure requirements are unambiguous, testable, and understood by engineering
  • Translate requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical tasks
  • Maintain and prioritize the backlog based on business needs and delivery capacity

Agile / Scrum Execution
  • Own and run the Scrum process, including: sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • Ensure sprint commitments are realistic and aligned with delivery goals
  • Enforce Agile best practices while keeping the focus on outcomes, not ceremony

Delivery & Performance Management
  • Track progress against sprint goals, milestones, and release plans
  • Closely monitor engineering performance, velocity, and throughput
  • Identify risks, blockers, and scope creep early and drive resolution
  • Hold engineers accountable for commitments while supporting them in delivery
  • Ensure work delivered matches agreed requirements and acceptance criteria

Communication & Stakeholder Management
  • Provide clear, concise status updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Communicate risks, tradeoffs, and delivery impacts proactively
  • Act as the single point of accountability for project execution

Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience managing software development projects
  • Strong experience running Scrum / Agile teams
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into executable engineering work
  • Experience working closely with engineers, architects, and product managers
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Technical background or experience working as an engineer or QA
  • Experience managing multiple teams or complex systems
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar tools
  • PMP and Scrum certification
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
