About the Role: Biomedical Technician I at Intelas

Intelas is seeking a dedicated and skilled Biomedical Technician I for a 100% travel position. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of a wide range of patient care and support equipment, working independently across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on a broad range of patient care and selected support equipment in compliance with established standards.
  • Manages all assigned equipment and schedules service effectively.
  • Conducts pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures for new equipment, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Ensures all test equipment is functioning correctly and calibrated within established intervals.
  • Responds expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify operator complaints and concerns.
  • Researches and initiates orders for necessary repair parts, adhering to established budget parameters.
  • Maintains a purchase order log and validates invoices for payment (specific to field service personnel).
  • Provides informal training to equipment users and Crothall Services Group staff as required.
  • Makes recommendations to the Department Manager regarding service strategies and keeps supervisors informed of activities, needs, and problems.
  • Participates actively in the Quality Improvement / Risk Management program, contributing to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains an orderly and functional work environment.
  • Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed to support critical operations.
  • Documents all significant asset-related actions meticulously in compliance with department practices.
  • Participates in department meetings, collaborating with technical personnel to share updates and address device-related issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology, military training, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment within a hospital environment.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for this field service position involving extensive travel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possesses good communication and strong customer service skills.
  • Exhibits good organization and time management skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications for tracking service histories and producing asset reports.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
