Senior General QA Engineer

Intaker, a rapidly expanding SaaS startup based in Los Angeles, California, is actively seeking a Senior General QA Engineer. We specialize in developing cutting-edge software that empowers law firms to automate and optimize their client intake processes. We are currently undergoing an exciting redesign, introducing a brand-new UI and numerous new product features. To support this rapid transformation, we are looking for a Senior General QA Engineer who will take significant ownership of product quality. The initial focus will be on manual testing, with a gradual expansion into automation as the platform achieves greater stability. This is a 6-month contract role with a strong potential for extension.

This position is fully remote, with a preference for candidates located in Eastern Europe, and requires a fluent level of English for a 40-hour workweek.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in manual testing of web applications
• 2+ years of experience with automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium)
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile processes
• Experience working in fast-changing product environments (startup experience is a plus)
• Ability to perform exploratory testing and identify UI/UX inconsistencies
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail)
• Understanding of automation frameworks and a readiness to contribute over time
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent English (spoken and written) - a must-have requirement

Nice to Have

• Experience testing SaaS platforms
• Experience using AI-powered tools to enhance testing workflows (e.g., for test generation, automation support, faster debugging, or exploratory testing)
• Basic API testing knowledge (e.g., Postman)
• Experience with mobile testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working closely with design/product teams during UI redesigns

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of product quality during the crucial redesign phase
• Perform thorough manual testing of new UI and feature releases
• Navigate workflows as an end-user, meticulously identifying UI glitches and usability issues
• Execute regression, smoke, and exploratory testing to ensure comprehensive coverage
• Create and maintain robust test documentation, including checklists, test cases, and detailed bug reports
• Collaborate daily with development, design, and product management teams
• Gradually contribute to automation coverage as the product matures and stabilizes
• Actively help improve QA processes and best practices within the team
