About the Role
The Catalog data engineering team defines how catalog data is structured and standardized for consistent, reliable, and timely product information. This high impact role owns essential data integration pipelines and models across all of Instacart’s offerings.
About the Team
The Catalog Engineering team ingests data from retailers, third parties, and brands to create accurate and comprehensive product listings. Their work includes data acquisition, product ingestion, inventory management, quality assurance, and enrichment of product attributes. The team processes approximately 8 billion updates each day.
About the Job

About You
Minimum Qualifications: 6+ years in Data/Software Engineering with expertise in SQL and Python, experience in building high quality ETL/ELT pipelines, knowledge of data immutability and auditability concepts, and familiarity with cloud-based data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Trino/Presto. Effective communication and a strong sense of ownership are essential.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent, experience with Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, building Flink pipelines, and data quality monitoring.
Additional Information
This is a remote role under Instacart's Flex First policy, with specific hiring in Canadian provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia. Compensation is highly competitive and offers additional equity and annual refresh grants for Canadian based candidates.
