Overview
Insomniac Games is looking for a Director, Project Management. In this role, you will build, lead, and mentor a world-class Project Management Department, ensuring on time and on budget deliveries, while collaborating with Studio Leaders, Project Leaders, and Project Managers.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Director, Project Management is responsible for ensuring project quality, studio sustainability, and the well-being of team members. Responsibilities include:
- Creating and enforcing macro development schedules with Project Directors and Managers
- Anticipating schedule and budget overruns and initiating corrective actions
- Playing games in development to verify operational and quality standards
- Budgeting for the Project Management department alongside Finance
- Evaluating and implementing staffing strategies
- Directing the professional development of all project management staff
- Advocating for studio cultural values and fostering collaboration
- Developing strategies to improve studio efficiency and quality
- Ensuring cohesiveness towards project objectives with production leadership
- Addressing concerns related to inappropriate or unprofessional conduct
Supervisory Duties
This role includes supervisory responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding and disciplining employees.
Language and Reasoning Skills
Requires ability to interpret technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Must be able to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and solve complex problems with strong analytical skills.
Computer Skills
Requires intermediate proficiency in Insomniac proprietary software, MS Office, project tracking systems, and publisher-required software.
