Overview

The University of Pennsylvania, a world-renowned Ivy League institution located in Philadelphia, seeks a Temporary Mobile Clinic Recovery Technician to support their School of Veterinary Medicine's Shelter Medicine Unit.

Position Summary

This role supports mobile clinic surgery days by aiding in patient recovery, assisting with inventory and cleaning, and collaborating with veterinary students. Work involves direct involvement in pre, during, and post-surgical processes in a state-of-the-art mobile clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with stocking, cleaning, and supporting patient care on the mobile unit.
  • Participate in anesthesia, monitoring, preparation, recovery, and medication/vaccine management.
  • Manage clinic setup, breakdown, and recovery monitoring to identify and act on irregularities.
  • Support veterinary students with clinical tasks and record maintenance.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and assist with maintaining electronic medical records.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have vocational or technical training with 1-2 years experience or equivalent. Experience in shelter medicine, high volume surgery, and electronic medical records is essential. A licensed CVT in Pennsylvania, outreach experience, and additional certifications are a plus.
