This position will provide valuable support in the areas of recruiting and event planning. As a Student Worker - Human Resources, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of HR, including talent acquisition, candidate sourcing, event coordination, and administrative support. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of Human Resources.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process by posting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Conduct initial screenings of applicants, coordinate interview logistics, and communicate with candidates regarding their application status.
- Collaborate with HR team members to develop creative sourcing strategies to attract top talent, including utilizing job boards, social media platforms, and college career centers.
- Support the planning and execution of recruiting events, such as job fairs, employee events, career expos, and campus visits, including logistical coordination, booth setup, and attendee registration.
- Maintain candidate data and documentation in the applicant tracking system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with the development and improvement of HR processes and procedures, including the creation of templates, forms, and recruitment materials.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including organizing files, preparing reports, and scheduling meetings.
- Assist in organizing and coordinating HR-related events, such as employee recognition programs, training sessions, and wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth event operations, such as coordinating catering, setting up audio-visual equipment, and managing event logistics.
- Participate in special HR projects as assigned, offering innovative ideas and contributing to process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
- Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
- Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with candidates, employees, and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable learning new software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive approach to taking on new challenges.
- Knowledge or experience in event planning or recruitment is a plus.
