About the Role
The Senior Associate Athletics Director and Chief Administration Officer is tasked with transforming lives through academic excellence, research innovation, community partnerships and economic opportunity at a major institution. This role partners with athletics leadership to manage day-to-day internal operations of a competitive intercollegiate athletics program, ensuring compliance with university and regulatory policies.
Location
Main responsibilities are performed at the Kennesaw campus in Kennesaw, GA with additional responsibilities at the Marietta campus.
Job Summary
This position assists with recruitment, development, management, coordination, and supervision of intercollegiate athletics. It involves advising on strategic initiatives, managing internal operations, and ensuring compliance with NCAA, state, and conference guidelines. The role may include sports administration for specific programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee internal operations including men’s and women’s programs, HR, and compliance.
- Act as Chief Administration Officer advising on strategic planning and departmental policies.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and evaluate staff and head coaches.
- Manage departmental budget and ensure policy compliance.
- Collaborate with university offices and community agencies.
- Represent the university in conferences and meetings.
- Manage special projects and may serve as Sports Programs Administrator.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in post-secondary education or a related field along with a current and valid driver's license and a minimum of 7 years experience in intercollegiate athletics administration or head coaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in a related field is preferred. The candidate should be well-versed in NCAA activities, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.
Additional Information
This supervisory role requires extensive travel (50% - 74%), a clean background check, and additional screenings including motor vehicle, drug, and credit checks. It is a position of trust that does not involve financial responsibilities or purchasing card usage.
