Job Description

Pain Management Specialist - Assistant Professor

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking candidates for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. This role requires expertise in the specific area of pain management. Successful applicants must hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, along with ABA certification in anesthesiology or status as a candidate in the examination system. The ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license is also required.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Instruction of medical students and residents rotating through the operating rooms and wards.
  • Participation in the didactic series within the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care.
  • Clinical teaching will primarily take place at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provision of comprehensive pain management services.
  • Delivery of clinical anesthesia services.
  • Clinical duties will be performed at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
