Job Overview
The Human Resources Specialist at Inside Higher Ed supports the HR department under the direction of the VP of Human Resources. The role facilitates various HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, payroll audits, and HRIS/database management.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage job postings and track candidate status using HRIS and ATS.
- Update HRIS records for new hires, terminations, and status changes.
- Assist with background checks and new employee investigations.
- Prepare submissions for state retirement reporting and compliance.
- Audit and maintain I-9 records and perform payroll-related reconciliations.
- Support recruitment efforts including reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Assist in executing special projects, performance evaluations, and report preparation.
- Provide customer service assistance via correspondence and queries.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Experience with HRIS, ATS, and the educational sector is preferred; bilingual skills are a plus.
Work Details
- Full Time, On-Site at Main Campus in Palos Hills.
- General Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
- Salary ranges from $54,702 to $72,920 with a generous benefits plan.
