Overview

The Director Admissions role is part of the newly launched School of Government and Public Policy at Johns Hopkins University, established in October 2023. This position offers a unique start-up environment within a well-established university and requires an agile, solution-focused leader to create and manage admissions processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic, data-informed student admission recruitment, marketing, and enrollment strategies.
  • Create and execute yearly recruitment plans.
  • Lead and manage the admissions team through effective process oversight.
  • Partner with various campus offices to streamline applicant to matriculation transitions.
  • Manage fiscal requirements and budgetary recommendations for the Admissions Office.
  • Analyze reports and track trends to optimize decision making.
  • Recruit, supervise, and appraise Admissions Office staff; conduct disciplinary processes.
  • Oversee compliance with admissions standards and audit procedural systems.
  • Represent the Admissions office at public events and campus committees.
  • Be adaptable to unexpected obstacles, with occasional travel and weekend work.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree and at least five years of related experience. Advanced experience or additional education may substitute as per the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in Slate for admissions workflow design and data reporting.
  • Ability to leverage BI tools for data-based decision making.

Additional Information

This role is based in the District of Columbia and is a full time position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with additional travel and weekend commitments as required. The role is part of Johns Hopkins University's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
