Anesthesiologist - Associate/Full Professor at University of Pennsylvania

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking highly qualified candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions within the non-tenure academic clinician track. This esteemed role is based in Philadelphia, PA.

About the Role

Successful applicants will join a dynamic team dedicated to both clinical excellence and academic contributions. The non-tenure academic clinician track emphasizes outstanding clinical practice and robust teaching engagements.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms and wards of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) and the Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC).
  • Active participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provision of expert clinical anesthesia services at HUP and PPMC.
  • Opportunities are available with a specific focus on general and/or cardiovascular anesthesia.
  • Applicants with expertise in critical care, neurocritical care, obstetrical, regional, or pain management are encouraged to explore relevant job listings within the department.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or an equivalent degree. Board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) or active status as a candidate in the examination system is required. The ability to obtain a Pennsylvania medical license is also mandatory. The academic rank awarded will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
